There is no laser on the market currently that will provide 100% permanent results. Also not all ND Yag and Alexandrite lasers systems are the same either. The power between laser system’s do vary significantly with inconsistent delivery of energy between laser shots whilst performing treatments can lead to unsuccessful treatment. The Gentle max is the most powerful reliable system and delivers the correct, consistent delivery of laser energy per single shot during the treatment hence  variability is eliminated.  We can confidently achieve up to 90%  permanent long term hair reduction. Most importantly it is the skill of our laser  practitioners their experience, technique, being meticulis, and selecting the correct laser parameters will deliver a successful treatment outcome. Our practitioners have treated thousands of patients in particular we specialise in asian - Pakistani/ Indian/ African skin types as these skin types more challenging to treat. However white, blonde, red or grey hairs are untreatable, as the laser light only targets the dark pigment called melamin in the hair. Alternativley we do offer electrolysis.

Hair grows in repeating cycles, and only in the actively growing Anagen phase does the hair contain enough pigment to absorb sufficient energy to disable the hair follicle.  

Face, underarms and bikini have aprox 20% of hairs are in Anagen phase and rest of aprox 80%  of hairs are in the Dormant phase of the hair growth cycle. In this stage the hair has little or no pigment, and it cannot absorb laser energy hance the treatment will be ineffective.  A course of 6 to 8 treatments are generally recommended to achieve a succesful long lasting outcome. Top up treatments may be required to maintain the results. 

The laser light selectively targets the brown pigment known as melanin in the hair follicle. This light is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle, converted to heat with high enough energy resulting in the destruction of the whole hair follicle.  In particular the cells lining around the bulb, bulge including the blood supply are destroyed leading to treatment of unwanted hair. But without damaging the surrounding tissue.

The number of treatment sessions required varies from patient to patient, but on average they last from 10 mins upto 90 mins for full body treatments. The Gentle Max lasers have a unique, integral skin cooling system, so most patients tolerate the treatment comfortably. Some people experience a sensation similar to having an elastic band snapped against the skin during treatment. If you do have any redness or swelling after treatment, this should resolve in a couple of hours. Permanent side effects are rare but will be discussed during your consultation. You will be able to resume normal activities after each session, but you may be given specific  advice, such as avoiding sun or abrasive skin cleansers on treated skin for a few days. You should always follow the provided specific instructions for pre and after care.

The most powerful ND Yag 1064 nm laser is suitable for Types IV- VI  that includes Asian ( Indian Pakistani, Arab etc) to Dark afro carribian skin types. The most powerful 755 nm Alexandrite laser is designed for Fitzpatrick Skin Types I-III. This is suitable  for light Caucasian, European skin types.

A consultation is required to discuss your concerns and expectations from the treatment. To determine your suitability for the laser treatment a medical questionnaire will be completed and a detailed assessment of the concerned area will be analaysed by our laser practitioner. Once we have established suitabilty a test patch at the treatment site will be perfomed. The full treatment will be commenced after 72hours for skin types 1 to 3 and after 7 days for skin types 4 to 6. However if you are pregnant,have a active tan, active eczema, psoriasis, have metal plates in the area, suffer from light triggered epilepsy then the treatment is not suitable for you. Also if you are taking medicines that are photosensitive our medical practitoner can review and assess your suitability during your consultation.

Skin may be slightly red and/or swollen immediately following the procedure, which typically lasts from a few minutes to several hours.

Hygiene and safety are always top priorities with the Gentle Pro Series laser treatments, even more so nowadays. In these treatments, laser energy is delivered through a handpiece operated by your practitioner. The laser delivers an intense beam of light at a precise distance controlled by the laser treatment tip. The only part of the laser hair removal system that comes in contact with you is the treatment tip. The Gentle Pro Series are the only laser to provide a personal tip to keep your skin hygienically clean, when treating all body areas - bikini line to facial hair, for all genders and skin types.

When treating patients  for laser hair removal the skin is protected by using the latest Cryo Cooling Device which cools the skin avoiding unnecessary injury. This also allows maximum patient comfort in terms of pain throughout the treatment. The pain resembles to hair plucking or elasticated band snapping against the skin.

The treatment area is required to be clean shaven 24 hours prior each treatment session. This is essential for a successful safe treatment.  Any visible hairs can cause a potential side effect to the skin and may have undesirable result. If you are nervous or hesitant to shave we can assure that by shaving the hair it will not thicken or stimulate the hair and  its purely for best treatment outcome.

Following your laser treatment the hair will shed 2 to 3 weeks later and the hair follicle will enter the new Anagen phase of the hair growth cycle. Depending on the anatomical area you will be ready for your next laser treatment. 

Inbetween your laser treatment you can only shave or use a trimmer. Do not pluck, epilate, wax, use depilatory creams and  avoid threading. Any method  involving removing hair from its follicle the laser treatement will be ineffective.

Having a active tan is unsuitable for a laser hair removal treatment. The tan will need to disappear over 4-6 weeks  back to your original skin colour before the treatment can be performed.

Our highly skilled laser practitioners fine tune  the gentlemax pro laser settings and carefully select optimum parameters to treat fine hair safely, effectively and consistantly. Whereas  other laser techonologies such as a diode laser and IPL lack this capability. Vellus hairs are difficult to treat instead we offer laser hair bleaching treatment.
